The Charles Darwin Foundation for the Galapagos
Islands (CDF) is an international non-profit
organization founded in 1959 under the auspices of
UNESCO and the IUCN. CDF is registered in Belgium
and its operational base is the Charles Darwin
Research Station on Santa Cruz Island in Galapagos.

CDF has carried out its mission in the Galapagos thanks to an agreement with the Government of Ecuador and with the mandate to provide knowledge and assistance through scientific research and complementary action to ensure the conservation of the environment and biodiversity in the Galapagos Archipelago.
